In 1964, Boyd Annis began building cabinets out of his garage. His desire to build a well-crafted product and market it at a fair price became the cornerstone of Boyd's Custom Cabinets. Within three years, Boyd moved into a leased space in Crystal, MN and hired his first employees. As his customer base grew and his workspace expanded, he maintained the same mission: to create quality products at a marketable price.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Boyd's Custom Cabinets survived lean years and prospered in strong ones while continuing to bring the same quality work to his customers. By the 1990's Boyd handed over ownership of the company to his son Doug Annis, current President of Boyd's Custom Cabinets, while still guiding the company's vision.

Taking the best of his father's values including honesty in business and his inherited craftsmanship, Doug took the company into the next era. An era of computers, CAD design, cutting-edge equipment and of course the continued implementation of quality-driven employees. Doug also moved Boyd's Custom Cabinets into a larger workspace in Maple Grove, MN allowing his company the space needed to continue the tradition of well-crafted cabinetry at a fair price that his father started 40 years earlier.
